Trident Safety, Security, and Defense, LLC believes that the first and best step for self-defense is awareness.  The classes below deal with avoidance of dangerous situations, awareness of potentially dangerous situations, and less-than-lethal force through effective deployment of a taser.  While we offer classes on hand-to-hand combat and weapons training (concealed carry classes through advance weapons systems), our goal is to train each of our clients to never put themselves in a position to have to either brandish or use a firearm, or be in a situation where the "bad guy" is so close that you have to fight for your personal safety.

Our classes and strategies are effective for men, women, and college students.  Private, group, and company classes are available.


Safety and Awareness Class

Our Safety & Awareness class ("Refuse To Be A Victim") teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for developing a strategy for your personal safety.  Today's world is a violent place and it seems that every day there is another tragic story in the news.  Statistics show that approximately 3.4 million women a year are victims of stalking and one out of every five American women fall victim to rape or an attempted rape during their lifetime.  There are also approximately 400,000 robberies reported to the police each and every year!

This course is taught by our firearms instructor, a veteran police officer/detective who offers real world insight, experiences, and advice in addition to the core curriculum.  Our resident attorney will also be available to provide opinions and answers to your questions.  Our Safety & Awareness seminar includes classroom instruction on a variety of crime prevention strategies, from criminal psychology to automobile crimes to cyber-crime.  This is not a firearms instruction course, and does not include instruction in physical combat/self-defense.

Our class instructs our students about the common weaknesses of which criminals may take advantage, and teaches a variety of corrective measures that are practical, inexpensive, and easy to follow.  Strategies include home security, carjacking avoidance techniques, cyber safety, and use of personal safety devices.

Students will receive the NRA's Refuse To Be A Victim brochure, firearms supplement, and a course completion certificate.

Taser Class

The registration fee for this course includes one year of legal representation (see below), and a TASER C2 (retail price $399.00) in your choice of 6 colors.  Your TASER comes with 2 live Taser cartridges, 1 training cartridge (used in class), LPM battery pack, practice target, holster, manual, and training materials.

Our civilian Taser class is designed for those individuals who wish to arm themselves with an effective method to protect themselves and their family's safety but do not wish to arm themselves with a firearm.  This class is also perfect for those who wish to have an effective method of protection with them in areas that prohibit the carrying of a firearm.  Because a Taser is not designated as a firearm, the restrictions prohibiting firearms do not apply to a Taser.  As such, Tasers can be legally carried on school campuses, universities, colleges, and other businesses where firearms are prohibited.

Our Taser class is held in conjunction with our Safety & Awareness class to maximize the information and benefit to our students.  Registration for both classes is not required and either may be taken separately (although we highly recommend attendance at both classes.  This course normally runs between 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the number of students who are registered.

During this class, you will receive information on the legalities of the use of force against a potential attacker, instruction on the activation and safety release of the Taser, how and where to aim, and firing the Taser.  There will also be practical application exercises designed to make you comfortable in the carry and use of your Taser.  This course is taught by Trident's firearms instructor who is an active duty veteran police officer and SWAT Team Operator.  Our resident attorney also attends our classes to answer and questions that you may have.

As a major added value, upon successful completion of our Taser class and activation of your Taser, you are eligible to receive one year of basic plan Taser representation from our owner attorney's law firm, Stiefvater Law, LLC.  If you ever have to deploy your Taser in self-defense, an attorney will respond to assist you with your initial statement to the responding law enforcement agency.
